Ein Sommer voller Abenteuer auf dem Meer! Von Italien über Kroatien, Montenegro, Sizilien und die Liparischen Inseln bis zur Toskana. Herausforderungen wie schlechtes Wetter, Ankern und kämpfen gegen meterhohe Wellen wurden gemeistert. Höhepunkt war die Besteigung des Stromboli und der Blick in den Krater.

Mitte Mai konnte ich endlich losfahren. Das erste kleine Abenteuer war die Fahrt von Italien nach Kroatien. Der Autopilot funktionierte noch nicht so gut und ich musste mich erst an die Fleur Rapide gewöhnen. Aber ich habe schnell gelernt, wie man schnell segelt. Dann ging es weiter durch das Insellabyrinth von Kroatien nach Split. Der Mai war eher regnerisch und kalt, und der Wind kam meist aus Süden – also immer gegenan. Das war nervenaufreibend und hat viel Zeit gekostet. An vielen Liegeplätzen waren die Bojen noch nicht ausgelegt, also musste ich erste Erfahrungen mit Ankern machen. Es war eine Erfrischung, spät abends anzukommen, den Bug-Anker auszuwerfen, rückwärts zum Land zu fahren und dann mit der Leine an Land zu schwimmen.
In Split kam Beatrice für 10 Tage an Bord. Wir hatten eine tolle Fahrt bis nach Dubrovnik mit atemberaubenden Buchten, leckerem Essen, netten Leuten und spannenden Segeltagen. Dann ging es weiter nach Montenegro – eine wirklich beeindruckende Landschaft, wo sich Berge und Meer treffen. Hier gab es auch viele Megayachten, die dem Ganzen eine besondere Atmosphäre verliehen.
Der Wind war für die nächsten 24 Stunden günstig, also musste ich schweren Herzens Albanien auslassen und stattdessen schnell zur „Hacke“ des italienischen Stiefels fahren. Das Wasser war kristallklar und die Strände waren weiß. Ich segelte weiter entlang der Südküste und des Ionischen Meeres bis nach Sizilien. Ich hatte ein bisschen Angst vor der Straße von Messina. Seit Tagen pfiff der Wind dort mit mehr als 20 Knoten, natürlich gegen mich. Und so war es auch – ein richtiger Kampf gegen meterhohe Wellen und starken Wind.
Die Liparischen Inseln mit dem Stromboli waren definitiv ein Highlight meiner Reise. Besonders der Stromboli hat mich umgehauen. Schon in der Nacht konnte ich aus der Ferne die Lava-Ausbrüche sehen, wie ein Leuchtfeuer, wie auf Homers Odyssee. Die Besteigung des Berges und der Blick in den Krater sowie die Lavafontänen waren unvergesslich.
Die Zeit reichte nicht mehr aus, um zurückzusegeln, also fuhr ich von nun an Richtung Norden mit dem Ziel Pisa. Dort wollte ich das Boot auf den Trailer laden und zurück zur Marina auf dem Landweg fahren. Es war ein langer Schlag zum Golf von Neapel im Tyrrhenischem Meer, wo ich Capri und Ischia besuchte. Es war schön, aber teuer und voller Touristen. Ich fuhr weiter zu den Pontinischen Inseln und dann zurück zum Festland. Bis Elba gab es entlang der sandigen Küste viele Strände, Städte und Industrieanlagen.
Das Toskanische Meer mit Elba war wunderschön und entspannt. In den letzten Tagen vor Pisa machte ich noch mal „Urlaub“. Die Tour nach Pisa war noch mal eine Herausforderung.

In mid-May, I finally set off on my adventure. The first challenge was the drive from Italy to Croatia. The autopilot wasn’t working so well, and it took some time to get used to my boat, the Fleur Rapide. But I quickly learned how to sail her fast. We navigated the island labyrinth of Croatia to Split. The weather in May was mostly rainy and cold, and the wind was mostly against us. It was nerve-wracking and time-consuming. At many mooring spots, the buoys hadn’t been set out yet, so I had to learn how to anchor. It was refreshing to arrive late at night, drop the bow anchor, reverse into the land, and then swim to shore with the rope.
In Split, Beatrice joined me onboard for ten days. We had an amazing journey to Dubrovnik with breathtaking coves, delicious food, friendly people, and exciting sailing days. Then we continued to Montenegro, a truly impressive landscape where mountains meet the sea. There were also many mega yachts that added a special atmosphere.
The wind was favorable for the next 24 hours, so I had to sadly skip Albania and quickly sail to the „heel“ of the Italian boot. The water was crystal clear, and the beaches were white. I continued along the southern coast and the Ionian Sea to Sicily. I was a little scared of the Strait of Messina. For days, the wind had been blowing there with more than 20 knots, of course, against us. And so it was – a real struggle against meter-high waves and strong winds.
The Aeolian Islands with Stromboli were definitely a highlight of my journey. Especially Stromboli blew my mind. Even at night, I could see the lava eruptions from a distance, like a beacon, like in Homer’s Odyssey. The climb up the mountain, the view into the crater, and the lava fountains were unforgettable.
Time didn’t allow us to sail back, so I headed north towards Pisa with the goal of loading the boat onto the trailer and driving back to the marina by land. It was a long journey to the Gulf of Naples in the Tyrrhenian Sea, where I visited Capri and Ischia. It was beautiful but expensive and full of tourists. I continued to the Pontine Islands and then back to the mainland. Until Elba, there were many beaches, cities, and industrial plants along the sandy coast.
The Tuscan Sea with Elba was beautiful and relaxing. In the last few days before Pisa, I took another vacation. The trip to Pisa was a challenge once again.
